Romanian tenor Emanuel-Christian Caraman has firmly established himself as a young professional in the world of opera and classical music. He performed the title role in L’Amico Fritz at Miami Lyric Opera, where reviews noted his role was “imbued with real vocal drama, his high notes ringing through the house”. He made his debut in 2009 in Bucharest, and has appeared with Die Deutsche Kammer-philharmonie, Northwest Symphony Orchestra, Chicago’s New Philharmonic Orchestra, the Los Angeles Opera, Miami Lyric Opera, among others. Operatic roles include Fritz in L’Amico Fritz, Riccardo in Verdi’s Un Ballo in Maschera, Edgardo in Donizetti’s Lucia di Lammermoor, Rodolfo in Puccini’s La Bohème, Almaviva in Mozart’s Il Barbiere di Siviglia, Don Jose in Carmen, Ernesto in Don Pasquale, and Don Ottavio in Mozarts’ Don Giovanni, Ferrando in Cosi fan Tutte, Tamino in Die Zauberflöte, and Alfred in Die Fledermaus. His concert repertoire encompasses the great oratorio works of Bach, Mozart, Handel, and Haydn. The National University of Music in Bucharest conferred the title of Doctor of Music on Mr Caraman in 2008
